Feminine Fall Style

For the first time ever, I’m actually getting a bit excited for Fall. Now I know many of you adore this season, but you have to understand that me and Fall haven’t ever been friends. But with every blush pink addition to my Fall wardrobe Autumn is looking better and better. Now mind you, I’ll probably take all of this back the minute it gets cold enough to warrant wearing a jacket and scarf outside. But until then, I’m going to try and enjoy it.

Typically for Fall I tend to wear a lot of flannels, jeans, Timberland boots – everything opposite of feminine. But for some reason having feminine Fall style this season is not that difficult to pull off. Perhaps it’s all the millennial pink that’s dominating every corner of the internet. Combined with above seasonal average temperatures. Whatever it is, I’m fully onboard.

A blush pink maxi skirt is simply a must this season if you’re looking to portray a feminine fall style. Not only are they types of skirts really pretty and girly, they’re also fairly practical. Pleated maxi skirts look great with flats, ankle boots. And most importantly will work well under leggings when it gets really cold out and you don’t want to look like a tomboy.

I had originally intended on a basic pleated maxi, but when I spotted this one there was no going back. This skirt has such a romantic vibe to it. Especially with the double layering and gold feather detailing, I simply couldn’t resist. I’ve styled it once before with a white corset top, but it looks just as gorgeous with black pieces, making it perfect for Fall when I tend to go with a darker colour palette.

For a subtly elegant classic look I paired the skirt with a delicate ruffle top and my Chanel bag, and of course the inner bohemian in me had to go with these tassel detailed ankle boots versus a simple black pointy toe flat. Which now that I think about it would work pretty well too, note to self…

Gold accessories were key to completing this look by playing up the gold feathers on the skirt as well as the gold detailing of the Chanel bag. And of course a chic pair of sunnies really do go a long way. What do you think about rocking a feminine fall style this season, or do you prefer to stick to the flannels and a more masculine style this time of year?
