Dress, bebe. Jacket, Old Navy. Shoes, Zara. Purse, Lulus. Ring, Samantha Wills.

Here is the story of this blue asymmetrical dress. I bought this dress eons ago when I worked at bebe, with the intention of wearing it for my birthday that year. It wasn’t only the bold azure blue colour that attracted me to it as soon as I saw it on the poster (before the dress even came in the store), but mostly I adored the modern Grecian style. I never did get a chance to wear it that year, and this dress sat dormant in my closet for about a decade. I wore it out once for a date with my boo a few years ago and then back in the closet it went…until finally last week I remembered it and had the chance to wear it for my birthday. If I had to say, it’s been about 13 years since the intended purpose of the dress was served, and it couldn’t have been on a more perfect night. Sometimes, things are worth the wait.

Top, Winners. Jacket, Old Navy. Tights, Talula (Aritzia). Flats, Zara. Purse, bracelet c/o Pinkstix. Sunnies, Gucci. Necklace, Stella & Dot. Ring, Samantha Wills.

Never really been into stripes before, but these pink and white ones may have started something. It was a laid back day for running errands so I wanted something simple. This side slit top paired really well with white leggings and I liked the way the blue denim popped against the white and pink. Accessorized with a statement necklace and hand bag (which also converts to this style) and some other gold toned accessories. Not bad for running errands.

Tank, Gentle Fawn. Jeans, (here). Shoes, Pink Martini. Clutch, Louis Vuitton. Sunnies, Gucci.

One of those brief moments in time when the sun was out and temperatures reached double digits in an otherwise cold month. Wearing a Gentle Fawn tank with lace detailing over white cropped jeans. I styled the white cropped jeans with a pair of chunky heels from Pink Martini because I’m really short and cropped pants tend to look better with height. Plus I gained a couple of inches which is always a bonus when dealing with a 6’4″ boyfriend.

When shopping for a pair of cropped pants the hem should rest just above the ankle. If the hemline barely clears your ankles an option is to fold them over once or pair the cropped pant with heels to help with the illusion of height.

A few days ago we got hit with an Ontario ice storm that kind of came out of nowhere. We had just started to enjoy Spring like weather and then this happened….these pictures were taken along the way as we officially kicked off road tripping’ season.

Shifted Spring

Jacket, Old Navy. Dress c/o Yoins. Scarf and bracelet c/o Pinkstix. Purse, Rebecca Minkoff. Sneakers, Converse. Sunglasses, Ray Ban. Rings, Child of Wild.

Been loving this mild winter we’ve been having, I cannot remember a February where I was ever able to wear a mini shift dress with practically bare legs. Usually at this time of the year we are buried under a foot of snow, if not more. As a result I styled the neutral shift dress with a jean jacket, teal infinity scarf as the accent, and pair of Converse kicks for a laid back casual edgy look.
