I’m a personal style blogger based out of Toronto and the northern GTA. I grew up (and was raised by) downtown Toronto. Originally an Art student, I pursued a degree from the International Academy of Design & Technology and spent many years working Women’s Fashion/Retail in the heart of Toronto. Being a total city girl, you couldn’t pull me one foot outside of the downtown core, even kicking and screaming. Until I met my Prince Charming that is….in the forest, literally. Along with Prince Charming came new landscapes and a more laid-back country kinda lifestyle that was so foreign to me and contrary to the bustle of the big city that I was used to. I couldn’t possibly sacrifice stilettos for flats, so while staying true to my personal style, I would still show up to the forest to visit my boo wearing a tutu and nothing short of 4″+ heels. Although since then, my at times over-the-top outfits have simmered down a bit and I’ve come to enjoy the beauty that can be simplicity as well.
House of Illusions is a personal style blog which depicts the fashion diary of a couture loving city girl wanderlusting through the natural beauty of southern Ontario. We love exploring landscapes and that usually involves dirt roads that at times lead to nowhere, or the odd magical spot.
Outside of my day job my passions are blogging, drawing, creating anything pretty – whether on paper, digital or with fabric, and enjoying quality time with my boo over some good wine and tunes. Lately it feels like I’m working 24/7 but in all honesty I couldn’t be happier that something which started out as a small hobby has quickly transformed itself into a part time job. And yes, I crave to pursue that endeavor more. It is such a blessing to finally be able to expand upon my life-long passions of Fashion, Art and Creativity, and to be able to share this experience with so many other like minded individuals.
