The Wide Legged Pant

Embracing my long time fashion nemesis: the wide legged pant. I realize that I very well might be the only person in the blogosphere that was not excited with the re-emergence of this trend. But the truth is, I’ve never been a fan (felt the same way about them in high school!). However, I humbly surrender and do as the SS15 runways dictate. Next step, embracing Spring‘s 70’s and flare trend, yet again.

Happy Thursday!

Menswear

Cape, boyfriend’s shirt. Dress, Winners. Boots, Aldo. Sunnies, Ray Ban. Bag, Rebecca Minkoff.

Today’s outfit: courtesy of my boo who styled this wonderful ensemble. First time being able to take one of his menswear pieces and incorporate it into my look, although I cannot take the credit for this ingenuity. After having come home from work and about to change as I normally would before heading out on our evening adventures (office wear and my personal style clash a bit) I realized I liked the sweater dress I had on all day, but just needed to pair it with a different jacket. Nothing seemed to work so my boyfriend suggested a “cape thing” to throw overtop. He found a creative way to fold down his shirt, and voila the above was created.

Hope you had a fab weekend!

This is my take on wearing a dress over pants, as inspired by Chanel’s Fall/Winter ’12 show, or more recently, Kenzo’s 2014 Fall/Winter lineup. I’ll be honest, I was always and admirer of this trend just never had the courage to pull it off. However, the true motivator for me to finally layer a dress over pants (skinny jeans in this case) was the extreme cold and a longing for Spring. End result: love it, regret not trying it sooner.
