Felt like mixing prints and textures. The end result being plaid with embroidered lace. With a hint of neutrals to tie everything together. Actually I was surprised at how well this combo worked out. What are some of your favourite prints and textures to mix?
When in a desperate need to look decent without putting in too much effort, opt for a bold statement jacket. For instance this French Connection coat. Besides the bold magenta hue that I love, it has exaggerated sleeves and a puff collar. Which also happens to double as a hood storage compartment in the event that you get rained on. Regardless of what you’re wearing underneath the jacket will be your statement. Most likely this outfit was inspired by the many times we’ve watched Purple Rain over the past few days.

This grey knit sweater dress is mostly used for lounging around the house with knee high socks, although the odd time it does make its way out the door. I love its versatility; it can be worn with over the knee boots for fancier outings, or simply with sneakers if you feel like stopping off at your local pond before heading out to the pub for dinner like we did.
