Caring for Coloured Hair + Biolage R.A.W. Giveaway

Caring for Coloured Hair with Biolage R.A.W.

If you dye your hair, then you probably spend a lot of money for that perfect colour. And depending of the type of colour you go for, specifically vibrant colours, tend to fade after a few washes. So why not start properly caring for coloured hair? Keep the colour lasting for as long as possible with a shampoo and conditioner specially formulated for that? And while you’re at it, why not use one that skips all the parabens, sulphates, and other chemicals?

Allow me to introduce you to colour care from the Matrix Biolage R.A.W. collection. I’m always for products that forgo the harsh chemicals. Especially ones that are salon quality! While I use colour lasting shampoo and conditioner here and there to maintain my blonde colour I had not come across one that didn’t make me cringe when reading the ingredients label. Because I do that.

I was more than happy to try some samples of the Biolage R.A.W. colour range because I know their products are formulated without parabens, sulfates, silicones or artificial colorants. In fact, the line contains ingredients up to 98% natural origin. If you’d like to learn a bit more about the line, this post on Biolage R.A.W. will help you understand why I love the brand so much.

There’s no better way caring for coloured hair than by gently cleansing and deeply conditioning the colour treated hair. The shampoo contains nourishing coconut milk and antioxidant-rich meadowfoam. What is meadowfoam you ask? Meadowfoam is a flower that is cold-pressed to create an anti-oxidant oil full of nourishing properties. This helps to retain the hair’s moisture while giving it a brilliant shine, as well as lasting colour vibrancy throughout multiple washes. The shampoo smells incredible. To the point where I didn’t want to rinse my hair!

The conditioner likewise contains these ingredients and smells just as lovely as the shampoo. After using both my hair was soft, shiny, manageable and full of body, all while keeping my blonde colour vibrant. Both are at a $25 price point.

Another product that comes in the colour care line is the R.A.W. Heat Styling Primer. Specially formulated for colour treated hair (as well as natural) this primer also contains coconut milk and meadofoam and is up to 99% natural origin. The heat styling primer should be applied to towel-dried hair before exposing to heat tool and provides thermal defense up to 450°F.  I like how the primer helps with styling and enhances the shape of my hair. It is a great addition to my styling products and makes me feel better about blow drying my hair. Priced at $21.50.
